First, I write for my family , and those who are truly related to me , and must make this clear to many I personally I can careless who care or not, if my ancestors were not so called "Celtics" ,and I am proud of the reality that my ancestors seem to have had origins in the Black Sea ,and immigrated thru the centuries into Scandinavia in the areas of Finland , Southern Sweden , and Norway . With a selected group of people that have y-dna tested, and to seem to have origins in Yorkshire , England, a area once occupied by the Brigantes, Danes , and possibly the Ynglings. Very likely that my ancestor was a Viking, and this would explain the reasons my ancestors always ended living on islands, and many of their exploits. And since, the 1600's my ancestors fought for the Spanish crown, survived, struggled , and now every O'Neill of Puerto Rico is of the Latin culture, and very proud of that , and I will never change that for anything in this world. Unlike many others I know who I'm , I know what my family has been through , and I know my own abilities. This is why I am not hung up, nor do I care for a senseless Celtic pride identity etc. but I only care for the plain truth! I have a clear conscience knowing that I have not made a single profit of my surname, nor will I do, I find that petty, below my class, and morals. I live and know what I have accomplished, and my ancestors, and not the glory of O'Neill's that had nothing to do with my family. Do I care if I obtain all genealogical records, and submit them to the Chief Herald of Arms in Ireland, and obtain the rightfully coat of arms for every single O'Neill of Puerto Rico? No, if it happens it happens. Again, I know who I am, and I cannot say the same for others. I live in the real world, and not in a fantasy, nor am I in denial of who I know I am. Others for years have been looking from the outside at what they don't understand, nor will ever come close to knowing the truth, and that's because they don't belong, and will never no matter how hard they try. The O'Neill's take their surname form Niall Glundubh mac Aedo , and there is genealogical records that he was born in Norway, and he is stated in the Anglo Saxon Chronicles to have been the brother of the Viking warlord Sihtric . That's a fact regardless, of people’s bias, hatred, or prejudices.
The Association of O'Neill Clans. I would advise it that instead of the promotion of a books and reunions. Why doesn't the Association really spend time trying to get the y-dna results from the ancient bones, of many of the Royal O'Neill's buried in Ireland? I think I know that answer to that one, and many also do have answers. I challenge Ed O’Neill, who once ran O’Neill DNA Project to produce the authentic Haplotype, or SNP of the Royal House of Tyrone. Since, his theories are mainly based on that y-dna of a paper trail of a member that leads back to a Desmond O'Neill, said to be of the O'Neill's of the Fews, yet from what I have seen lately is disingenuous to say that his descendants are the of the Royal House of Tyrone, or from the O"Neill's of the Fews. And that the y-dna of the Desmond O'Neill descendants represents the Royal House of O'Neill. Let’s be a more real and honest.
You see to pick and chose information to fit your agenda, or theory is real good, yet it falls apart when really looked at it by all others information outside the bubble of O'Neill myths and misinformation. The truth is that the Edwin O'Neill coined O'Neill Variety is not, and cannot be said to be that of the Royal O'Neill of the House Tyrone. No one knows the true SNP, or Haplotype, of the Royal House of Tyrone. Until some male members of the Clanaboy in Portugal, O'Neill's of the Fews in Spain, and in O'Neill's in Palma de Mallorca obtains a y-dna test, or the remains of many of the O'Neill's buried in Ireland get tested. I think the bull shit should be ceased until this is obtained. And I guarantee that the y-dan results of the ancient O'Neill remains is not what these so called experts expected.

I know it’s disturbing and upsetting, for many of O'Neill's to see that the O'Neill's of the Fews were born in St.Croix , settled in Puerto Rico , and had involvement with my descendants in the same areas many of the O'Neill's of Puerto Rico have settled for years. I can careless what these so called experts of O'Neill's think, and I don't write to make friends, enemies, or money. I write the truth I find that many try to hide behind their prejudices, hates, and many times racism. You have to understand that the O'Neill's of Puerto Rico do not fit in into the model, of what the many, of the O'Neill Irish Americans and O'Neill's in Ireland wish the O'Neill's to be.

What I find interesting is that many of these O'Neill's like to quote, and grew up listening to the Milesian myths, yet the Milesian myths state that the Milesians were of a Scythian noble family. Most of the Irish genealogical books based on myths mention Gothinia,is there any common sense by the readers, for them to realize that Gothinia is Gotland, that the Goths were called Scythians for centuries , or that the Goths are not Celtic in origins. A little secret the Goths were a heterogeneous East Germanic tribe, and all the geographical areas described in the Milesian myths are the same as the geographical areas occupied or tarveled by the Goths.
