Constantino O'Neill? And Don Juan O'Neill.

Who was Don Constatino O'Neill mentioned in the O'Neill's de Puerto Rico oral history? Who ever Constantino O'Neill was he must have been born around the 1620 or 1640's and must have been in Spain or just changed his name in his new homeland of Spain . If he would have been from Ireland his name would have been called Conn. There seem to be many Conn O'Neill's but not many lived in the Spanish Netherlands nor in Spain , this eliminates all other Conn O'Neill's.

There was Constantino O'Neill who had a son named Felix O'Neill later became a Colonel in the Spanish Netherlands who served under Owen Roe O'Neill.

Conn O'Neill the 3rd son of Art O'Neill , father of two sons Daniel and Brian O'Neill , who was the father of Conn O'Neill who died in Spain.

Conn O'Neill , the 3rd son of Owen Roe O'Neill , father of Colonel Owen O'Neill and Lewis O'Neill both served in France.

There seem to be the connection of Don Bernardo O'Neill and Constantino O'Neill both associted with Owen Roe O'Neill.

Conn O'Neill, who died in 1601 , son of Hugh O'Neill , 2nd Earl of Tyrone, his grandson Feardorcha O'Neill left Ireland with don Hugh O'Neill into continental Europe . (Possibly Brussels)

Conn na Creige , son of Hugh O'Neill, 2nd Earl of Tyrone, who died in the tower of London in 1622 . Whose descendants nothing is known.

Conn McNeill McFachartaigh O'Neill, who was married to Owen Roe O'Neill's sister from whom he had a nephew named Brian O'Neill born circa 1612 , he served many years under the Prince of Orange army. He was married to a Catherine , the eldest daughter of Thomas, 2nd Baron of Wotton. He has a son named Harry O'Neill from a previous marriage but notthing is known of him or his descendats.

In 1697 there was Captain Constantino O'Neill , who served in the regiment of Clancarthy.

The progenitor of one of the O'Neill of Puerto Rico family is Don Juan O'Neill. Who is this Don Juan O'Neill ? and what was his connection with this Don Constatino O'Neill and the Spanish Netherlands?

Who were these men named Rocco , Guillermo and Edmundo O'Neill?

There is clue who these men could have been and a connection Don Arturo O'Neill de Tyrone O'Keffe, 2nd Marques del Norte , had his son Don Gonzalo O'Neill y Chabert born in Rio Piedras March 31, 1830 baptized by cadet Don Carlos Eugenio O'Neill from the regiments in Grenada. Very unlikely Don Arturo O'Neill de Tyrone O'Keffe would have his son baptized by a cadet unless he was from a distinct bloodline.

The island of Grenada was occupied by the French, and history well states that Dillon's regiment were contributors in the conquest of the islands of Grenada, St. Eustacia, Tobago and St.Christopher.
