Who was Don Constatino O'Neill mentioned in the O'Neill's de Puerto Rico oral history? Who ever Constantino O'Neill was he must have been born around the 1620 or 1640's and must have been in Spain or just changed his name in his new homeland of Spain . If he would have been from Ireland his name would have been called Conn. There seem to be many Conn O'Neill's but not many lived in the Spanish Netherlands nor in Spain , this eliminates all other Conn O'Neill's.
There was Constantino O'Neill who had a son named Felix O'Neill later became a Colonel in the Spanish Netherlands who served under Owen Roe O'Neill.
Conn O'Neill the 3rd son of Art O'Neill , father of two sons Daniel and Brian O'Neill , who was the father of Conn O'Neill who died in Spain.
Conn O'Neill , the 3rd son of Owen Roe O'Neill , father of Colonel Owen O'Neill and Lewis O'Neill both served in France.
There seem to be the connection of Don Bernardo O'Neill and Constantino O'Neill both associted with Owen Roe O'Neill.
Conn O'Neill, who died in 1601 , son of Hugh O'Neill , 2nd Earl of Tyrone, his grandson Feardorcha O'Neill left Ireland with don Hugh O'Neill into continental Europe . (Possibly Brussels)
Conn na Creige , son of Hugh O'Neill, 2nd Earl of Tyrone, who died in the tower of London in 1622 . Whose descendants nothing is known.
Conn McNeill McFachartaigh O'Neill, who was married to Owen Roe O'Neill's sister from whom he had a nephew named Brian O'Neill born circa 1612 , he served many years under the Prince of Orange army. He was married to a Catherine , the eldest daughter of Thomas, 2nd Baron of Wotton. He has a son named Harry O'Neill from a previous marriage but notthing is known of him or his descendats.
In 1697 there was Captain Constantino O'Neill , who served in the regiment of Clancarthy.
The progenitor of one of the O'Neill of Puerto Rico family is Don Juan O'Neill. Who is this Don Juan O'Neill ? and what was his connection with this Don Constatino O'Neill and the Spanish Netherlands?
Who were these men named Rocco , Guillermo and Edmundo O'Neill?
There is clue who these men could have been and a connection Don Arturo O'Neill de Tyrone O'Keffe, 2nd Marques del Norte , had his son Don Gonzalo O'Neill y Chabert born in Rio Piedras March 31, 1830 baptized by cadet Don Carlos Eugenio O'Neill from the regiments in Grenada. Very unlikely Don Arturo O'Neill de Tyrone O'Keffe would have his son baptized by a cadet unless he was from a distinct bloodline.
The island of Grenada was occupied by the French, and history well states that Dillon's regiment were contributors in the conquest of the islands of Grenada, St. Eustacia, Tobago and St.Christopher.
A research into all of the O'Neill's of Puerto Rico and the O'Neill's in the Caribbean , Spain , France and the Netherlands.

Y-DNA
My Y-dna is of the Haplogroup R1b1b2a1a4 also known has the SNP L48 / S162 among this Haplogroup i currently have no genetic matches the closest one are to far apart to be of any significance. Also my Haplotype has very uncommon markers not found within the SNP L48 that is believed to be around 3,900 years old origins are yet to be known.
Why is the Haplotype is so uncommon?
This could be due to not many male descendants from the original progenitor or a selected group of people not currently tested.
Among the O'Neill's of Puerto Rico there will those who would match me and those who would not but outside of Puerto Rico the percentages go down among other O'Neill's it's very unlikely that any O'Neill within Australia, Ireland and the United States ( Those not from Puerto Rico) will match me genetically. Currently no O'Neill who has tested their y-dna in Ireland, Australia or the United States has matched. This is due to various factors one of them being the O'Neill's of Puerto Rico origins start in Ireland with the immigration of the O'Neill's into Belgium once the Spanish Netherlands in the 1600's. Not later on in the 1800's to the Americas or Australia during the potato famine in Ireland.
It's very unlikely anyother O'Neill will match or be of the SNP L48 but there could be a posibility since there seems to be a big neglect among many of the O'Neill's to have their SNP tested.
The 1st known O'Neill to arrive in Puerto Rico was Don Juan O'Neill during the early 1700's he married Anna Garcia. Eight generations later i aquire a y-dna test and was the 1st to do among all the O'Neill's of Puerto Rico and any other O'Neill in Spain or Portugal.
Until others O'Neill males from Puerto Rico, Spain , Belgium , France and the Caribbean aquire a y-dna test then we will be able to know who is related to who and our true origins not just genealogy since what is in our dna does not lie.
What does the this y-dna prove?
It proves that the if O'Neill's de Puerto Rico are descedants of the Feardorcha ' Matthew' O'Neill bloodline. Then the question could be finaly answered . If Feardorcha was the illegitamate son of Conn ' Baccah ' O'Neill ?
and if he was then this would include all of his descendants of Irish history. Men like Owen Roe, Hugh Dubh , Hugh O'Neill , 2nd Earl of Tyrone and all his descendants.
Also , this may prove based on the ancient myths and Irish genealogies of the O'Neill's being of a Scythian/ Goth origin, not the so called Celtic origins. But this is often overlooked by many who believe in the ancient myths when it's convenient for them.
Based on the mutations this Haplotyope within the SNP L48 looks to be very old.

The origin of the O'Neill's of the Fews.

In 1755, the 99 years lease on the lands of Sir. Henry O'Neill of the Fews , expired and these were in Meelick, Carrowrory and Carrowconnell. Sir. Henry (Enrique) O'Neill and his wife Hanna O'Kelly , the daughter of counsellor John O'Kelly of Keenagh, Co. Roscommon, moved his family to Spain about 1758 , and they became the parents of Don Arturo O'Neill de Tyrone, who was born in 1736, Dublin, Ireland. Later to be known by the title of the 1st Marques Del Norte and Governor of the Yucatan in 10.03.1792. (The successor of Don Jose Sabido de Vargas). Named Governor of West Florida and named into the Supreme Council of War of Spain (replacing Governor Miguel de Uztaraiz). His brother Lieutenant. Colonel. Niall 'Nicolas' O'Neill O'Kelly was born in 1734 ,and died at Saragossa,Spain. Don Tulio O'Neill O'Kelly married Catherine O'Keffe y Whalen, and became the parents of Arturo O'Neill O'Keffe, Anne O'Neill O'Keffe and Tulio O'Neill O'Keffe.
Don Tulio O'Neill O'Keffe was born in St. Croix in 1784, and later became a General , who won many distinctions during the Peninsular War. He married Manuela de Castilla, the daughter of a Spanish Nobel. They became parents of Don Juan Antonio Luis O'Neill, born in 1812, who married Dona Luisa de Salamanca. He later inherited his mothers titles in 1847, and then becoming the Marques de la Granja, Marques de Caltojar, Count of Benajiar and Marques de Valdeosera . From then on they are known as the O'Neill's of the Fews of Seville.
Don Arturo O'Neill O'Keffe was born 1783 in St. Croix, later will become a Lieut. The O'Neill's of the Fews of Spain.
Much has been written, and alot has been speculated, and many time they have been celebrated as the O'Neill Mor's , but the reality is another. In my search for my own ancestry, I have came across Don Arturo O'Neill O'Keeffe , a man forgotten by history, and all the O'Neill's. His own descendants did not even know of his own origins, since all aclaim and titles went to his brother's descendants. The reality is that Don Arturo O'Neill O'Keeffe, was born in St. Croix 1783 ,and his brother Tulio O'Neill O'Keeffe born in 1784, when it was occupied by the Danish Crown. Their uncle Don Arturo O'Neill de Tyrone O'Kelly , Marquez del Norte gave his title of Marquez del Norte to Don Arturo O'Neill O'Keeffe.
